Options for Revision Surgery
At Weight Loss Institute of Arizona, our specialists are highly trained in state-of-the-art laparoscopic techniques which allow them to operate using small incisions. Typically, we can perform the following revisions laparoscopically:
- LAP-BAND® surgery may be performed in patients who have regained weight after gastric bypass surgery.
- Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is commonly performed on patients who have not achieved adequate weight loss with a restrictive procedure.
- Sleeve gastrectomy may be performed on those who have had complications with the LAP-BAND®
Our surgeons may also be able to tighten a stretched gastric pouch through a laparoscopic approach. In cases where earlier procedures have resulted in a great deal of scar tissue, revision surgery may require a traditional or "open" technique.
