We are there to support you through all of the changes that come with your new body and new lifestyle. At our practice in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area, weight loss is only part of the equation. We want you to feel your best, and for many of our patients, that means undergoing plastic surgery to correct the excess, hanging skin that is left after weight loss. We have helped many of our bariatric surgery patients by referring them to plastic surgeons who specialize in body contouring surgery for weight loss patients.

Understanding Post-Bariatric Plastic Surgery
After massive weight loss, the skin does not always "snap back" to fit the body's smaller size. For many of our patients, the excess, hanging skin that remains after weight loss can be an unpleasant reminder of their former self. This residual bulk can make it difficult to enjoy the results of your hard-earned weight loss because it can:
- distort the shape and proportion of your new, smaller body
- cause physical discomfort such as chafing and skin irritation
- limit physical activities and clothing options
Real patients discuss their weight loss journeys, and how they regained their health and their lives with the help of Weight Loss Institute of Arizona.

Your Procedure Options
Lower Body Lift – The lower body lift is a procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the lower back, flanks, hips, thighs, buttocks and abdomen. Through a circumferential incision, the excess skin in these areas is removed, and remaining tissue and skin are repositioned and tightened for a firmer, smoother appearance. It can be combined with abdominoplasty to tighten lax abdominal muscles and skin, and liposuction for slimmer, smoother contours.
Thigh Lift – The thigh lift helps patients with loose, bulky skin and residual fat that may cause chafing and irritation of their thighs. Through well-concealed incisions, the surgeon lifts and firms the thighs, incorporating liposuction for improved results.
Arm Lift – The arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a common procedure for patients that have lost a significant amount of weight. This surgery addresses the loose, hanging skin of the upper arm that can cause self-consciousness and limit clothing options. Through an incision from the armpit down the inside of the upper arm, the surgeon eliminates excess skin and repositions tissues for a more toned appearance.
