The First Step
Your initial appointment with Weight Loss Institute of Arizona is a full one! The visit begins with a free insurance consultation. A financial counselor will review your benefits, insurance requirements and all out-of-pocket expenses, as well as answer all of your financial questions. What happens next is entirely up to you! You can:
Think It Over
Take the information home and review it thoroughly. Speak with your spouse or significant other, family members, friends and loved ones. Figure out financing if necessary. Surgery is an important decision and it is perfectly normal to need time to process the information. We will be here for you when YOU are ready to proceed.
Get Started
You may choose to start on your weight loss journey immediately. If you like what you hear during the financial consultation, we can get you enrolled in our program right away! If you choose this option be prepared for a 2.5 - 3 hour office visit.
When you begin the program, you will complete initial financial paperwork, and then meet with a Medical Assistant (MA). The MA will take your medical history and talk to you about the entire process. She/he will also complete any necessary lab work and schedule more involved testing as required.
You will also meet with our dietitian to learn more about any nutritional issues and the dietary program that should be followed to be successful with whatever surgery you choose. She/he will talk to you about how to eat, what to eat and when to eat before and after surgery.
Finally, you will meet with the doctor. He will answer all of your questions, go over your medical history and evaluate your overall health. He will determine if you need medical clearances or other testing, and the MA will refer you to appropriate doctors/specialists as needed.
